What if you were DF'd for apostacy, but instead of the expected...
by respectful_observer inthis is a hypothethical, so i'm not looking for whether you would ever do this, or "why would you want to subject yourself to this...", but rather, what would happen if some did do this..... .................... you're half of a married jw couple, and you admit to doubts about certain wts teachings and it leads to an eventual disfellowshipping.
but instead of walking away from the kingdom hall forever, you stay put.
you faithfully go to every meeting with your spouse.

Loved how you wrote your story. You have come a long way and done so much for others. The pain I can relate to you are not alone! I'm an Athiest also and proud of it To me it says I'm thinking not just believing what I was told and what most think I should believe. I'm not less moral or tainted and don't try to fix me! The "religious" need the fixing!

well there is life after nursing school
not sure what your school is like but mine started off with 28 people and 13 graduated so it wasn't the easiest program.
Nursing is a life altering job. Good if you are up to it but..... not all the purks non nurses think it has.
I have been punched, grabed in all areas, slaped, spit on, pooped on, farted on, peeded on, bitten, screamed at, cursed at.... so many times I can't recal
Yet I've saved lives, helped thoes that are passing on and the loved ones left behind, been the one to hold a hand when needed, whiped the tears from a scared pt, loved the loveless and felt the pain of a stranger. I've been told endless times that I was the angel they needed. I'm not that perfect of a person that knows it all I just have a heart that feels it.
Nursing is a life, not a job. It takes your soul but if you let it.... you will get twice the soul back.

How do I as a future "Therapist" help ex-jws that won't move on from the WT?
by booker-t ini am halfway through my master's program in psychology/sociology and plan on being a therapist/sounselor.
i left jw's in 1988 and i have never looked back.
i enjoy my life so much after getting my aa degree, then my ba degree, and now i will soon get my ma degree.

They read off the names of those auxilliary pioneering; 75% of them don't work &
by Theocratic Sedition inhalf of that 75% get disability and ssi checks.
it was kinda funny sitting there listening to them go down the line, name by name, of the ones auxilliary pioneering since the numbers are dropped to 30 hours for march & april.
as they were doing the names i was saying to myself, "she don't work", "she supposedly can't work", "he hasn't worked in years", "she gets a check", "she's probably gonna lie about the amount of hours she did" etc.. gotta love it.. i don't know if this happens in your congregation or not, but have you ever heard someone remark about someone else behind their back, "she can show up at every gathering, but she can't show up for field service!

The time is near for my families crucification

A question for those that have been around this board for a long time
by JeffT inmy wife and i stopped going to meetings in 1988 and da'd in 1989. for a few years we both actively participated in the xjw world, she quit doing that a long time ago, and has pretty much completely moved on.
the other night i told her about my planned blog (which will probably launch this weekend) it will mostly be about my writing, a lot of which is mostly about jw related issues.
she asked why i am still so drawn to this subject.
